Review Hyundai Tucson 2016 164-horsepower and extra place in the interior

Hyundai's 2016 Tucson had its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March, even so the New York Auto Show this week granted the first opportunity to get a look at the compact SUV in U.S. trim. Hyundai used the 2015 New York auto show as the venue for the introduction of its all-new Tucson. And not a regular five-passenger crossover, however, this 2016 type year Tucson contains several astonishing future-forward features.

The most significant visible change is in the nose of the SUV, that contains a new hexagonal grille, LED running lights and projector headlights. As well improving the looks — not to forget the comfort — are the Tucson's new shapes: It's 30inches longer with about an inch broader. The change adds about 5 cubic feet of added space in the interior.

The base powertrain installation is a 164-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, routing power in a six-speed automatic. The uprated setup is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, released through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With the new turbocharged engine as well as front-wheel drive, Hyundai predicts the 2016 Tucson to return 26/33 mpg city/highway, which is certainly a 5 mpg advancement over the 2015 model’s 2.4-liter engine. 2016 variants equipped with the base engine and front-wheel drive are expected to earn 23/31 mpg, which happens to be a slight improvement over the 2015 base model’s 23/29 mpg EPA rating.
