2016 Cadillac CTS-V Review 640 Horsepower Value Ranging from $84k

Cadillac publicized today that the most impressive road car in their history could go for sale this summer with a major base price raise beyond the old CTS-V, which typically went for at least $70,000. With destination price the new car may well be more than $84,000.

At the $84,990, the CTS-V is just $4995 greater than a base 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. That looks like a steal for essentially the same supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 (although creating 10 less horsepower), a performance-tuned eight-speed automatic transmission, two more doors and a back seat, and an reputable 200-mph top speed. Final fuel-economy figures are not in yet, but we’ve also been shared by Cadillac that it expects the V to miss the gas-guzzler tax that nails M5 consumers with a $1300 tab.

A stiffer body structure, enriched suspension elements and Cadillac's adaptive dampers promise even more perfect handling and control to join the CTS-V's newfound power. Brembo brakes and bespoke Michelin high-performance tires will be tasked with stopping it and sticking it to the road.

And the Cadillac is quite a bit better prepared compared to its rivals straight out of the box because of the its carbon fiber hood, 19-inch wheels surrounded with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, 20-way adjustable front seats that includes heating and ventilation, camera monitoring, and suede and carbon fiber trim.

The new CTS-V is simply two cars in one: a deluxe sedan with stylish road manners and a track-capable sports car with impressive performance. This category of car is exclusive, the domain of the few who can get into this level of great capability. V-Series fit or overtakes the finest cars in this upper class, while being more accessible.
