Tips to sell your used car

Tips to sell your used car

Your first step is to check the on-line classified ads to see how many other sellers are asking for this type of car. Keep in mind that the dealer will have a different price than a private party list. The line eBay.com and other Internet sites allow you to search by specific criteria. For instance, select a year and trim level of your car and see how many similar cars are currently on the market. Note the condition, mileage, geographic location and their selling prices so that you can register your car at a price that will sell quickly.

Before you start making your list, you might want to prepare a short description (about 5 sentences) to explain some details about the car and why you sell it. Buyers evaluate the car on what the owner has chosen to disclose in the notes to the seller and also the writing style of the owner, so be sure to use correct grammar.

When someone is in your car online, the more information they can get about a particular car, the more likely they will find something that appeals to them. Be sure to take lots of high-resolution images possible. Modern camera point-and-shoot has a large dynamic range and exceptional quality. Stay away from taking pictures with camera phones, such as the lens they leave much to be desired, and have a tendency to compress images and decreased quality in less than optimal lighting environments. If you can get your hands on a DSLR camera with a decent lens, go for it.
