2015 GMC Sierra 1500 review full-size pickup offered for sale in numerous cab with decent rating in crash-test safety

The recently overhauled 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 gives you among the best hauling and towing numbers of any light-duty full-size truck while returning improved fuel economy and performance. And it offers plenty of ports and connections to make almost just about any Sierra into a mobile workplace.

The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size pickup provided in a number of cab/cargo-bed variations in both two- and four-wheel drive. Body designs include standard cab, extended (double) cab and crew cab. Common cabs are presented with either a 6.5-foot standard bed or an 8-foot bed. Extended cabs consist of the 6.5-foot standard bed, while crew cabs are offered with either a 5.75-foot short bed or the 6.5-foot standard bed.

The 2015 GMC Sierra offers three engines: a 4.3-liter V6 which will make 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft, a 5.3-liter V8 that renders 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. All Sierra models carry a common 6-speed automatic, though GM has hinted that an 8-speed may possibly introduction midyear for V8 powerplants.

Based on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Sierra 1500 earned a superb rating in crash-test safety, which includes a very good rating in the oh-so-difficult moderate front overlap crash test. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration rated the Sierra 1500 with a 5-star all in all rating, which includes a 5-star rating for frontal and side crashes. Rollover crashes were rated at a 4 stars.
