The recently overhauled 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 offers the best hauling and towing numbers of any light-duty full-size truck while returning excellent fuel economy and performance. And it carries proper ports and connections to turn almost any Sierra into a mobile workplace.

The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size pickup made available in a variety of cab/cargo-bed configurations in both two- and four-wheel drive. Body styles include common cab, extended (double) cab and crew cab. Common cabs are offered with either a 6.5-foot standard bed or an 8-foot bed. Extended cabs are provided with the 6.5-foot standard bed, while crew cabs can be found with either a 5.75-foot short bed or the 6.5-foot standard bed.

The 2015 GMC Sierra features three engines: a 4.3-liter V6 that will make 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft, a 5.3-liter V8 which will make 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and a 6.2-liter V8 that renders 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. All Sierra models come with a normal 6-speed automatic, though GM has hinted that an 8-speed may well debut midyear for V8 powerplants.

Based upon the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Sierra 1500 deserved a fantastic rating in crash-test safety, which includes a great rating in the oh-so-difficult moderate front overlap crash check. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration scored the Sierra 1500 with a 5-star overall rating, including a 5-star rating for frontal and side crashes. Rollover crashes were rated at a 4 stars.
