Mazda gives unlimited mileage warranty in Canada
Winter weather might be starting up to grip parts of Canada, but our neighbors to the north will probably be able to drive their 2015 Mazda cars and utilities from Vancouver to Montreal with a little more satisfaction. That's because Mazda Canada is instituting an unlimited mileage warranty for its new models.
Mazda Motor Corp. will provide an unlimited mileage warranty to buyers who purchase or lease a car in Canada beginning with the 2015 model year, the automaker mentioned today.
Mazda provided not a single clear explanation how come the warranty extension is just for the Canadian market. Kory Koreeda, president of Mazda Canada Inc, reported of the new warranty, "Mazda's focus is on long-term customer happiness. By offering our customers an Unlimited Mileage Warranty, we believe it is going to increase their ownership experience by reducing issues for example kilometre limitations, maintenance costs and resale price." It is difficult to think with that logic, but why not the US market? Certainly US Mazda sellers would like the additional service work and sales this move might bring.
“Mazda is a company that constantly challenges traditional conventions to produce improvements. Driving pleasure is essential to Mazda; it’s in our DNA, and each car we make. So supplying a new form of warranty that doesn’t restrict clients from enjoying their vehicle and driving as much, or as far, as they want is the best fit.”
The unlimited mileage warranty introduced today by Mazda is special in the industry. Hyundai and Kia have a simple warranty lasting five years, a period well beyond the average, as Mitsubishi also provides a far more comprehensive 10-year powertrain warranty, but all these warranties contain mileage restrictions.
