Mazda features infinite mileage warranty in Canada
Winter season could be beginning to grab areas of Canada, even though our neighbors to the north will likely be ready to drive their 2015 Mazda cars and utilities from Vancouver to Montreal with a little more comfort. That's because Mazda Canada is instituting an unlimited mileage warranty for its new models.
Mazda Motor Corp. will provide an unlimited mileage warranty to consumers who order or lease a car in Canada beginning with the 2015 model year, the automaker stated today.
Mazda bestowed not a single clear information why exactly the warranty extension is only applicable for the Canadian market. Kory Koreeda, president of Mazda Canada Inc, said of the new warranty, "Mazda's focus is on long-term client satisfaction. By giving our customers an Unlimited Mileage Warranty, we believe it can enrich their ownership experience by reducing concerns such as kilometre limitations, maintenance costs and resale price." It is difficult to think with that logic, but why not the US market? Clearly US Mazda sellers would like the added service work and sales this move can bring.
“Mazda is a corporation that always challenges traditional status quo to produce improvements. Driving excitement is necessary to Mazda; it’s in our DNA, and every car we make. So offering an alternate type of warranty that doesn’t limit users from enjoying their car and driving as much, or as far, as they want is the right fit.”
The unlimited mileage warranty stated today by Mazda is unique in the industry. Hyundai and Kia provide a standard warranty lasting five years, a period well beyond the average, and Mitsubishi also gives a much more comprehensive 10-year powertrain warranty, but also each of these warranties feature mileage restrictions.
