2016 Honda HR-V Review provides good fuel economy and a roomy interior

The all-new 2016 Honda HR-V has a lot going for it, including the innate goodness found in all Honda. But a bit of a sport utility vehicle to make some concessions for the sake of sleek styling and a low price point (ie, low for an SUV). This is the first time Honda offers a subcompact SUV in the United States, and as with many first attempts by a car, he leaves room for improvement. At the same time, he also nails a few basics, including driving dynamics.

HR-V is a new vehicle in a new class for Honda, but it was cribbing a few of the CR-V's big brother for dealing with people like the Mazda CX-3, Chevy Trax, Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500X. Starting at the nose, where fat HR-V wearing lookalike grille and headlights similar to those in many updated 2015 CR-V. In other places, it's more fun, jazzy shapes - curved roofline high headroom, front fender is quite clear, and there was a swell of sheetmetal in the shoulder line that extends in the HR-V, past the hidden rear door handles.

The interior, though, is a different story. The best bits come from Honda unsurpassed packaging know-how. The layout of the fuel tank-mounted center HR-V affords a low, flat cargo floor, which helps to make every square inch of 58.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity that can be used. The driver-oriented dashboard also create an atmosphere of sporty, cockpit as avoiding open layout CR-V which made it feel like a minivan. Visibility was uncompromising, with a clear view of the front and rear thanks to relatively low beltline and large windows.

2016 Honda HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. model of front-wheel-drive comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and obtain Environmental Protection Agency estimates of 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg hwy and 28 mpg in combined driving. Adding a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) bringing the figures up to 28 mpg city / 35 hwy mpg, or 31 mpg combined. Toss AWD, and HR-V returns 27 mpg city / 32 mpg hwy impressive, good for 29 mpg combined.
