Ford Cars In The Future Can Detect Heart Attack! This Technology Will Be Used in 2020
The cars of the future will be equipped with a seat that is able to identify the driver who had a heart attack. The concept, when the attack came, seating will send a signal to the car's computer system to perform "emergency stop". Ford already a step in this area, said that the seat is equipped with sensitive electrodes that monitor the driver's heart rate. This technology works with a camera that monitors the movement of the head and the sensors in the steering wheel.
If there are possible signs of a heart attack, the computer takes over the steering and brakes, guiding the car safely to a stop. When the car finally stopped, the system will activate the driver's cell phone to send a message to the hospital or ambulance. Dr Achim Lindner, Medical Officer of Ford Research Centre said, this technology not only bring benefits to the driver, but also make the streets safe.
From one study conducted over three years in the European Union, people who have heart attacks, 23 percent led to an accident on the road. Ford says that 30 percent of Europe's population in 2050 will be 65 years old, and prone to drive the car. That is, the risk of heart attack will grow slowly.
Pim van der Jagt, managing director of Ford Research Centre in Aachen, Germany, said that Ford has begun developing this technology since 2011. However, based on analysis of the company, it took at least five years to make these technologies mature. Allegedly, the use of this technology will begin in 2020.
