2015 Nissan Rogue SUV Review far more conservative and way more fresh

The initial thing you'll discover with this current generation of Nissan Rogue is the astonishing styling. Gone are the wild grille treatments, modified by something a bit more conservative and way more contemporary. The front and rear of the crossover are both more interesting and modern, and the overall look is one that feels less economical. The interior is better organized and finished in trendy, higher-quality materials.

Without doubt, the Rogue should be alluring if you're focused on comfort and available space. Interior surfaces are produced from good quality materials that look and feel particularly upscale, mainly on upper trim levels. And as a bit of a rarity in the compact crossover segment, there's other seating for seven. The available third row is small, but all in all, storage capacity is good. There are a number of cargo configurations, and with both rear rows folded down, the Rogue matches class leaders with 70 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2015 Rogue is only included with one engine: a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. That powerplant, in turn, only has one transmission: a continuously variable automatic. Fuel economy stands at 26 miles per gallon in the city and 33 mpg on the highway for the front-wheel-drive base model or 25 mpg city/32 mpg hwy with all-wheel drive.

Something that was just a bit disappointing, however, was the driving range. With a smaller gas tank, the Rogue is barely great for about 300 miles at a time. On a long road trip this becomes a heavy weakness, as enjoying your time on the road is vital.
