Tips To Get The Best Gas Mileage From Your Vehicle

Tips To Get The Best Gas Mileage From Your Vehicle

We are all enjoying the downward trend in gas prices, but deep down we all know that eventually the gas prices go up. It never hurts to start good habits that will stick with you the rest of your life and will always be to save money, no matter what gas prices are.

We've put together a few basic tips that, when implemented together, save money and not have to go to the service station much more often.

When you start the vehicle, just warm it up for a couple of minutes. I saw many people leave their vehicle running for 20 and sometimes up to 40 minutes before they are ready to go. Needless to say, this is going to affect your fuel consumption.

Give yourself plenty of space when you pull out into traffic. This will help you avoid heavy acceleration that used more fuel to reach the speed. When you do not take it out, if possible, try to avoid running the engine up to high speeds when moving through the gears. Even with an automatic, giving less gas allows the automatic making the first step, fuel economy.

Try to maintain a constant speed. Have you ever been behind someone on the road who are going 65 a second, then 58 the next, then the next 70? Avoid up and down the speed and fuel economy.

If you come to a stop sign or a red light, will coast to stop as soon as possible. Have your vehicle idle last 100 feet before a stop to save fuel.

If you must go to wait until you have a lot of space so you can accelerate gently and gradually increase the speed, without having to accelerate hard to get around the vehicle because of oncoming traffic.

If you make an effort to implement all of these techniques, when possible, you can reduce fuel costs and develop good habits that will pay for the rest of your days driving.
