The latest Toyota Prius will adopt hybrid technology of car racing
The world's largest car manufacturer, Toyota, is currently developing a best-selling hybrid car, the Prius models. Interestingly, this latest Prius will adopt hybrid technology from Toyota race car. Reported by Toyota Motorsport GmbH page, Friday (11/14/2014) President of Toyota Motorsport GmbH Yoshiaki Kinoshita said, The latest Toyota Prius will use some of the components in the TS040 Hybrid (Toyota racing cars) competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2014.
Kinoshita added, the components that will be used in the latest generation Prius was shaped microchip and microcontroller, or not mechanical components. These components are already in production and will be tested durability in extreme conditions. Not only that, the All-Wheel Drive technology on the TS040, can also be implemented on the latest generation Prius.
New semiconductor is being developed, will also help make the Prius, up to 10 percent more efficient than previous generations. Reportedly, this new Prius will go on sale in 2016 and will most likely go into the production line in December 2015.
